Heroes is an American TV drama series. The main storyline is about a group of ordinary people from around the world who discovered that they have supernatural powers, and how these abilities helped to prevent foreseen disasters etc and how the superpowers take effects in each of their lives. This TV series is produced by Universal Media Studios and it is filmed primarily in LA, California.
So far 4 complete seasons have aired, season 4 has just recently finished airing on 8th February 2010. It is most likely that there will be season 5 according to Greg Grunberg who plays Matt Parkman in the series, he said that the final episode of season 4 is nowhere near a series finale, it is still very cliffhanging, he has no doubt the show will be back.
All seasons have received mainly positive feedback from viewers all over US and some other countries as well. This series have received numerous nominations and won several awards including Primetime Emmy awards, Golden Globes, People’s Choice Awards and British Academy Television Awards.

Glee is a new American musical TV drama series. This TV show is about a high school glee club called ‘New Directions’ at William McKinley High School in Ohio. Will Schuester, the high school teacher of William McKinley tries to refuel his own passion, and started the Glee Club for a group of outcasts to realize their potential in being a star. He was faced with some problems from the school caste system, and harsh criticism from the people around him, but he is determined to prove them wrong.
The first season was broadcasted on 21st of Sept 2009, and the mid season finale ended on 9th Dec 2009, which will return on 13th April 2010 for its remaining 9 episodes.
This show has received mainly positive reviews from the public, and it has won the 2010 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical, and received 3 nominations for best actress, best actor, and best supporting actress.

This week’s mentor for the idols is Shania twain, one of my favourite country singers of all time. Everyone performed very well this time, except for Crystal Bowersox which I thought was the worst apart from Shobhan. I thought Lee and Kelly’s performance were outstanding, but I think Shania’s favourite was Big Mike’s performance, Shania’s eyes were teary after Mike’s performance, she must be really touched by his singing. I think Shobhan will me the next to go.

If you are visiting Penang, and have extra time, and wonder what to do, why not visit Pulau Payar or Langkawi? Langkawi is situated on the northwest coast of peninsular Malaysia, very close to Penang Island. It is not the best in Malaysia, the best ones are in Sabah and in the east coast of the peninsular Malaysia i.e. Redang and Perhentian Island in Terengganu
Langkawi
If you enjoy snorkelling or diving but havn’t got extra time to visit other Malaysian beaches (In my previous post), then you could take a Ferry to Pulau Payar, Langkawi for a dive or just snorkelling, It is 1 hour away from Penang jetty. There are only 2 ferries that brings you there, the ferry leaves the jetty at 8am and 8.30am everyday and brings you back in the evening. You will have lunch there as well but there aren’t any hotels around, it is just for snorkelling and diving purposes. The water is very clear, as good as the water in Phuket, Thailand, you get to swim with the sharks too
Berjaya Langkawi Beach and Spa resort
If you want to stay in Langkawi, you can go by the same ferry, but it takes a longer duration, approximately 2.5 hours to get there, but there are plenty of hotels in Langkawi, and many activities you can enjoy whilst you are there. My family and I have stayed in Berjaya Langkawi Beach and Spa resort in the past and we absolutely loved it.
Lumut and Pangkor Island, Perak
If you like to play golf, you can visit Swiss Garden Golf Resort and Spa Damai Laut in Lumut, Perak, it is 3 hours drive from Penang. There is really nothing much to do if you stay in Damai Laut, Lumut, but if you do not want the hassle of traveling by ferry to pangkor, and worrying about car parking etc, then this would be ideal just for a relaxing holiday.
The hotel is quite isolated from the city centre, if you want to drive out to town for food i.e. in Setiawan, it would take about 30 minutes drive. But it is worth driving if you have nothing much to do, the food in Kampung Cina (Chinese village) is really good, and there are more than 10 chinese restaurants you can choose from, they are equally good. When you are in Setiawan, you must order their coconut drink, its famous there, and very refresing especially in this hot weather, dont forget Perak is famous for their mangoes too, make sure you get some on the way home, its yum and cheap! RM 10 for 8 mangoes, relatively huge ones too. These restaurants cater to seafood lovers, they have very fresh fish, crabs, prawns, clams, squids and you can ask them to cook it in any way you prefer. However if you don’t fancy seafood, they do normal chicken and vegetable dishes too. However it is all Halal (no pork). Pangkor Laut Resort
Pangkor Island is 30 minutes away from Lumut Jetty, you can take a ferry across to Pangkor conveniently, the ferries are quite frequent, 1 every 30 minutes and it brings you to your hotel. There are more choices of hotels in Pangkor Island and more things to do there, one of the most prestigious resort is Pangkor Laut Resort, it cost over RM1,000 a night, it is a chalet style hotel, some of the chalets are on water where you get direct sea views, but you pay for what you get, it is very expensive. Pangkor Laut is a privately owned island located three miles off the West Coast of Malaysia along the Straits of Malacca.You will find no other resorts there, just secluded bays curled around pristine beaches, evening skies woven with colour, and a deep sense of serenity reserved exclusively for their guests. It is the ideal place for honeymooners or couples to enjoy a quiet time together.
One warning for all, do not go snorkelling in Pangkor Island, they make u pay RM70 and bring you out on a speed boat to the ‘snorkeling paradise’ but there are limited sea life there, and most of the corals are dead, and the sea water is filthy, it is by far the worst snorkelling place I’v seen so far, it is a con! Besides the snorkeling, everything else is fine.
Catherine (Julianne)and David (Liam) is a couple that are married with a 17 year old son and appears to have an idyllic life. When David misses a flight to get back home for his suprise birthday party, Catherine started suspecting that he has someone else out there. She decides to hire an escort to seduce her husband and test his loyalty. Catherine finds herself ‘directing’ Chloe’s encounters with David, and Chloe’s end of the bargain is to report back. Through unforeseen events, the young call-girl puts the family in danger.

Check out the movie trailer, this is the kind of show I’d like to watch, looked really interesting, with a combination of suspense and thriller, and the ratings from imdb.com is 7/10, looking good. Besides, I think Liam Neeson is a brilliant actor, I liked him in the movie Taken, 2009, he makes good thrillers. This movie is sort of like a psychological sexual thriller, I thought the storyline was good, with a lot of twist that keeps me interested until the end of the show, the casts performed well especially Julianne Moore(like her best). The scenes got quite creepy and intense towards the middle part of the show.. but I thought Amanda Seyfried could have made it better though, the role that she took on could have given more rush and suspense to it, I think she only managed to deliver 70% of that. Overall I think this is a great storyline, it opens up your mind and makes you think, at least it did not bore me a single second I’d rate it 7.5/10.
Only dissapointment is the ending, I thought it ended too sudden, it definately wasn’t predictable which was good, but not satisfying either, it just felt like ‘what?is that it?’ Have you watched Poison Ivy before? This movie has a similar concept to it, but with more twist.

This episode was so good. You can’t miss this one, they promoted a few big and great charities out there, a lot of heart felt moments in the show. Watching this, it made me stop to think, how lucky I am to be healthy and have a place to live in, food to eat, and able to pursue my dream and career, I am ever so thankful for what I have. Several artist were invited to join the american idol give back show to raise awareness and promote the charities they support. Carrie underwood, Mary J Blige, Annie Lenox, Alicia Keys, David Cook, Elton John and many more were there as well.
Annie Lennox stole the show tonight, check out this video, it was the highlight of Idol Give back. Universal Child is such an inspiring song from Annie Lennox. I loved the way she delivered it, absolutely amazing.

The woman’s team is on the lead again, can you believe it? now only 2 more guys left in the game! What are these men doing? Lol.. This just shows that woman are as capable as men are or better..
Anyway this time the task was to make over an artist, a country singer. The men has chosen Luke bryan, whilst the woman’s team took Emily West, I think the woman had an advantage because Emily’s voice is absolutely beautiful. Luke was a harder person to work with, he has his own style and prefers to stick to them most of the time, so made it harder for the men to change him over. He did compromise a little with the chain that he wore a the end, but he wasn’t very comfortable in it anyway. Emily on the other hand was easy to work with, as she allowed the girls to make any changes on her, and added some style and edge to her hair and dressing, mainly focussed on black, darker colours, which made her looked sharper and more attractive.
I dont know why Emily West isn’t very famous yet, at least not known to me, her voice is amazing, she has got a big big vocal there. But Im sure she will be more well known now after the apprentice show. I love country music, and she is the sort of singer that I will invest my money on the album.. Ahh.. This movie.. watched this like a month ago already.. wouldn’t have gone for a chinese film if it wasn’t for the limited options available at that time.. Its been so long since I last watched a chinese movie in the cinema, I guess it was more than 5 years already, or perhaps longer.
The reason I rarely go for chinese movie is because I think they are lame..id describe them as being ’slapstick-ally-silly’, if you have watched Stephen Chows movie, you know what I mean.. Its amazing so many people still enjoy them, I guess its because you dont have to think at all when watching films like this?? Its great if you want to take a break from work or studies
For those who enjoys chinese films, tell me what you like about them? Anyway I think this film has got way too many actors and actresses in it, but most of them only appear once and they lasted for less than 30 seconds?! Lol, I dont know whats the point of that really.. Apart from Ronald Cheng who was the main actor, there were Ada Choi, Athena Chu, Gigi Leung, Alex Fong, Stephy Tang, Kenny Bee, Gillian Chung, Marco Ngai, Edmund Leung, Wong Cho Lam, Eric Tsang etcetc.. But overall, I thought it wasn’t as bad as I thought, Ronald Cheng was quite good at his role, there were few parts that did loosen me up abit and I did Laugh-LAH – If that is what you want to know!!
Can you think of any slapstick films you have watched?? Any that is soooo lame and silly but still managed to crack you up nicely?? Id be interested to know, I need a break!!!! Please share ok??
