Little TV Addict

It is the time of the month again! Pay day!!

I am so happy I finally get paid! The month of Dec and Jan was an expensive one, due to christmas, new year and sales. So this month, I can save up more to make up for previous month’s expenses! 

The sales has finally ended, which is really good, because then I can stop shopping!! Did you get lots of bargains during the sales or not?

Anyway one thing I regretted not getting was a TV. Looking at my pay check, I started browsing the internet for HDTV again. It is not a cheap item, so I really need to consider properly before investing in a nice big screen for my flat.

It really is ashame I havn’t got a TV yet, when I am such a couch potato. Watching TV on my laptop really isn’t ideal, screen is small, and holding the laptop can be tiring.. I just wish to sit on the couch, snacking, whilst looking into a big flat screen! Ideal. What TV should I get??

American idol is back!! Yess!!

So, since the last season, there were lots of hoo-ha going on about who the judges will be for this new season. Well, I guess everyone now know who the new judges are eh?? For those who don’t… it is Steve Tyler and J.Lo!!!

Were you surprised with the new pick this year?? To me, it was a pleasant surprise. Both Steve and J.Lo are not my favourites, but after watching the 1st few auditions, I think they are totally great as the new judges of american idol.

I thought american idol will be going through a down fall without Simon Cowell this year, but I was so wrong. In fact, Steve and J Lo are both very talented and rather current singers, even if you dont know Mr Tyler, I am sure you have heard the theme song of Armageddon – I don’t wanna miss a thing by Aerosmith?! Mr Tyler is the main guy of Aerosmith.

What do you think of the new judges?

I have always loved the reality shows, one of my favourites is the amazing race!

I just finished watching the finale of season 17 and guess what??

Nat and Kat came in 1st without much challenge with the other 2 teams. Jill and Thomas, the other very consistent and strong team came in 3rd. They have always been really good, but they got unlucky when one of their taxi drivers couldn’t really understand english!! What a shame.

I am not complaining, I totally adore the winners – Nat and Kat, doctors in the USA, have broken the records of amazing race, being the 1st ladies team to win the amazing race in 17 seasons! Kat is also an asian who was raised in the USA, that totally made us – asians proud!! Nat on the other hand is a type 1 diabetic, she has proved to all the diabetics out there, that nothing can stop you living a normal life like others, and be able to do anything you like!!

Have you been indulging yourself in chocolates and puddings during Christmas and new year?? During Christmas period, we do receive many boxes of chocolates and sweets from customers as a gesture of thank you. Sometimes the amount we get is enough to last for the entire month.

As I travel to different stores, I do get boxes of chocolates from the store managers as well. So you can imagine how much calories I have put on due to all this indulgence. Maybe I should look into apidexin discounts that my friend told me about the other day. What do you normally do to lose some weight after Christmas period??

I am a huge fan of body shop goods. I love their body butter, vitamin e face cream, foot cream, lavender massage oil, diffuser, etc. I havn’t got much fate with body shop this year, why say so??? Because when I went there on 26^th, it was closed, they closed early that day at 3.00pm, and I was there at 4pm, then next day 27^th morning, they were still closed!

Then on 28^th, finally they are open, and I managed to grab a few bargains –

Actually I have been eye-ing on the pink grapefruit body butter for a long time, unfortunately those were not discounted. Darn!

My friends and I stayed up till about 4am before we got to bed the night before. So you can imagine what time we woke up eh? We got up at 1pm due to a phone call. If it wasn’t for that call I think we would have slept through till 3pm. Anyway New Year’s Day was just another day, didn’t do anything special.

There were no public transport, and not many stores were opened. Having said that, it is not as quiet as xmas, I think the English don’t celebrate new year as much as they do for xmas. We managed to walk down to town, looked around for the best wrinkle cream for my grandmother, then had lunch in KFC, then went for bowling and pool, then had a nice dinner at my favourite Thai restaurant in Torquay. That was it really.

My friends came back to mine after dinner, but we had an early night on new year’s day since we were travelling early next morning to Bath. Yes, if you don’t know by now, we travel a lot to meet friends because we are all scattered all over south west England since we left university.

How was your new year?? Did you do anything special?

On New Year ’s Day my friends and I played pool, bowling, and kiap kung chai (plush toys vending machine), it feels like we have gone back to school days. I have always thought the toy vending machines are there to cheat people’s money, but today my friend managed to grab a toy at her 1^st attempt! How lucky.

She got woody’s girlfriend, Jessie from toy story. Her expression was priceless – she is always the ‘big kid’ amongst our group of friends. Eventhough today was just another day, but I enjoyed myself, because I didn’t have to think about work, just relax and enjoy the day with friends.

I wonder how many adults actually buy vitamins and supplements to keep healthy. Do you take any multivitamins?? I for one don’t buy any of vitamins to maintain health or boost immune system.

However I have been feeling really exhausted recently from my constant long hours of work and lack of sleep, making me lose focus at work. I think it is rather dangerous for me, as if I make an error, it could lead to serious consequences.

So maybe I should really consider buying some multivitamins?

Greenwich is such a beautiful little place, tucked away from central of London, it is still very crowded as tourist from all around the world comes here to stand on the meridian Greenwich, the longitude line where it is 0 degrees on the globe. I too have snapped a picture here finally!

The painted hall in Greenwich is also an amazing piece of art work, apparently it took over 100 years to complete the painting. The whole hall including the walls and ceilings are painted. Very nice eh?? Have you been to Greenwich??

It’s 2011. Should I have everything in the flat changed? Everything is slowly wearing off.. Even though the flat is not mine, but  I want to live comfortably too. Previously I have bought a new duvet set, and changed the lightings, now the kitchen sink is bothering me, it keeps clogging up and it looks rusty, and it feels like it needs a change. How generous will my land lord be I wonder? After all it is his flat, I am sure he wants it nice and properly maintained too. 

As you all know, I am a big time food lover, I spend so much time in the kitchen, I sure want new things in the kitchen if possible. I may actually try my luck suggesting it to my landlord. Before this, when I told him the heater wasn’t working, he immediately bought me a new one to replace the old one, how nice eh??
