Oops, I just realised I havn’t updated the amazing race post on me blog!! I have been so caught up with preparation for the exam.. that I totally lost track.. It was so long ago when I watched the finale of the amazing race, I can hardly remember..

For those of you who follow through the entire season, you probably know who won the million bucks.. yeah its the brothers, Dan and Jordan!! They were a very smart team, one of them knew that the last task would revolve around a memory test, as with the previous seasons, it has always involved putting pictures together to match the 1st race till the final race, what they have done in the different countries, or where they have been to etc.. so they actually jot down every task and place they have been to and nailed the final task. Im so glad they won instead of the cowboys, because I hate them sooo very much!! Lol.. I wonder when will season 17 be released.. Anyone knows? I don’t know if im looking forward for the next season or not.. the show to me its getting kinda dull..

Hmm.. it feels so weird now, all the reality show has recently ended, ie apprentice, american idol, amazing race… and my all time favourite tv series Grey’s anatomy as well!! What am I going to watch next?? Britains got talent maybe?? I have never followed BGT though, I wonder whether it would be worth a watch, at least Simon Cowell is in the show. Anyone following BGT and thinks its a must watch?? I’m actually pretty glad that all the shows that I follow has ended, because my Big and Final exam is less than a month to go!!

*wish me luck* I hope the next time when I catch up with my blogging, you won’t have to hear me sulk….

The guys took a coach from Penang–>Kuala Lumpur, then took a train to Singapore. Episode 9 tasks took place in Singapore, another food paradise. It is the cleanest country I have ever been to!

Singapore is an island-city state situated in the southern tip of Peninsular Malaysia, it is the smallest nation in Southeast Asia. It’s population is highly cosmopolitan and diverse, a lot of similarities with Malaysia where there are chinese, malays and indians living in the country, and asians of different origins.

Singapore is a popular tourist destination, another country with lots of delicious cuisines! You can’t miss the food festival in July, it is organized annually, to celebrate Singapore’s cuisines. It is only few hours on the coach from Malaysia, or you could get a train too, whichever you prefer.  I have not been to Singapore for a long time now, the last time I went there was when I was a kid, but the strange thing is I can only remember Singapore Zoo Very random eh? ha-ha.

Back to AR, the couple I hate most – Brent and Caite is still in the race, they made it to 2nd place this week(damn),they also gave a U-turn to the lesbians and caused them to be eliminated. Now only 4 more teams left, with the brothers coming in 1st, the cowboys 3rd, followed by the detectives. Caite is the only girl left among the 4 teams, will this make them a weaker team compared to others? I hope they will be eliminated next, I can’t stand her attitude at all. At this point, I hope the brothers win. you?

Their next pit stop is Malaysia, woohooo.. Im proud that Malaysia is where my home is! Definitely a must visit country its really exciting watching this episode, I think this race will definitely make Malaysia a more well known country View Larger Map

Many years ago, nobody knew where Malaysia is unless you tell them it is near Singapore? So sad right. Recently the advertisements promoting the Malaysia tourism industry is everywhere in the media in UK, I have met 3 english families who recently just visited Malaysia, and loved it.  Malaysia is a multi-racial country consisting of the Malays (majority), chinese and Indians (minority), visiting Malaysia, you will get an insight to the different cultures of all 3 races, and get to enjoy their respective cuisines as well.

So back to Amazing race, Jet and Cord the cowboys came in 1^st from being the last in the previous week, it is unbelievable. On the other hand, Steve and Allie the father and daughter who were in the 1^st place, have now been eliminated? Omg.  So sad for them, only 5 teams left now. Have you watched Episode 8? Any comments?

This week’s Episode 7 took place in Island of Mahe, Seychelles – where is this? Mahe is the largest island in Seychelles, located in the north east of the Indian ocean, which is 1,500km east of Africa, and northeast of Madagascar Island. The entire island looks stunningly beautiful, especially the crystal clear water. If you are a beach bum, you might want to consider visiting the Seychelles islands?

I hate Brent and Caite, really hope they be out soon man. For their 1^st task, they did not check that all the coconuts were thrown into the cart, there was 1 coconut still lying on the floor, so they had to re-do the task again, and their ox was moving so slowly, which slowed them down a bit. The brothers, Dan and Jordan were wiser, they made sure all coconuts were in the cart before leaving.  

Steve and Allie, father and daughter came in first this time, I was quite pleased with them, they seemed like a great team, it was their 1^st time coming in 1^st place, well done! Bad news for me that Brent and Caite are still in the race, they were lucky that 2 other teams had to re-do their task as well. Arghh. Well, Jet and Cord, the cowboys were the last team to arrive however this week is a non elimination week, so no one is eliminated. Great, we will see all of them again in the next race.

Who is your favourite team?

This week the race continued in Reims, France. So who came in 1st and last in Episode 6? the detectives came in 1st for the 3rd consecutive time. This week, I liked Dan and Jordan alot, the brothers seemed so on top of their game this week, I definately have to salute them for picking the harder task, and still managed to nail it, although they came in 5th place. It was amazing to see how they did so well in the pyramid. I was amazed that the top 4 glasses managed to stay still when the wine was poured, It didnt look very stable at all, thought it was going to fall. But well done for that, so much more rewarding to watch that being done successfully than the other task where they looked for some grapes in the vineyard! Lol, its like abit of luck if you find it early in the race and you save alot of time. But alot of effort and some skill is required for building the pyramids with the wine glasses.

Jordan and Jeff were the last team to arrive, so they were eliminated. I will definately miss them, Jordan and Jeff never really had a chance to catch up, urghh, really liked their attitude, much more than other teams, its such a shame they are out, would love to see them in the game longer, however I kinda knew they can’t stay very long, they don’t seem to have any strategy from the start, you’d know that from Big brothers if you watched.

I really didnt like Brent and Caite, I feel they are not very united as a team, they have different oppinions most of the time, and in this episode, they swap task several times because they gave up on finding the grapes in the vineyard, and they attempted the pyramid task but were not successful, so went back to the grapes. They were quite close to being eliminated, I did actually hope that they were eliminated instead of Jordan and Jeff though. Argh.

Amazing race season 16 Episode 5 -Germany –> France

This week’s Episode 5 is out. My internet has been so slow today,I dont know what is wrong. It is so frustrating, that is why I can’t give you a full summary of what happened in the race today. Maybe you can update me instead, anyone?  I managed to watch some but not till the end. However I’ll quickly update you on the results that I found out from youtube.

The detectives, Louie and Michael came in 1st again, for the 2nd consecutive time, they gave a U-turn to Joe and Heidi. Awww… not them please?!! The detectives probably found them as a thread in the competition, and wanted to get rid of them, for them, thats the only way to go, fair enough, afterall its a competition, you got to have strategy. But it really sucks to get U-turned in a race for a million bucks! Especially when they are doing quite well. To me, Joe is a strong guy, we all know he has got some problems with his legs, but he never gave up or complained much, and his wife is ever so supportive. Such a great team with good spirit. It is definately ashame they had to go early.

One thing that amazed me in this episode is that many of them had no idea what a baguette is! The cowboys had no clue, lol. Basically its the same as french bread.. the crusty long bread? Im sure you know. Anyway it is so common in England, many have it for lunch with a variety of fillings e.g. chicken tikka, chicken mayo, egg mayo, tuna mayo, etc. If you ever go to France, besides indulgin yourself in their cheap wine, you cant miss their bakery, and cakes. They are the best in Europe!

In this round, the teams flew to hamburg, Germany. They all got on the same plane as usual and reached their destinations at the same time.

This week’s task is slightly different; they have to mutually agree to join forces with another team. The cowboys together with the detectives- Louie and Michael arrived at the clue box 1st, so they teamed up and headed for their 1^st task of Bungee jump, in the city. 1 member from each pair went on for the jump, and all the teams managed to pull through that task without much trouble. None in particular had height phobia, which is good, if not 2 teams would have been stucked there.

In the road block the teams are now back in pairs, and have to choose between 2 tasks – down a plate of sour crab before the music ends,  or soccer where they had to shoot the ball at 5 targets. The former task seemed really easy, they were only given a fairly small plate and crabs are my favourite, I don’t know how bad sour crab might taste, but I think this is an easy task, and for those who chose that task, they definitely finished faster. This task was what determined the 1^st team to arrive at the check point. The cowboys went for the soccer, which I think slowed them down a lot, and were overtaken by Louie and Michael, who came in 1^st this round. At least there is some competition now; I wouldn’t want the cowboys to be 1^st again for 3 consecutive times. But for Jordan and Jeff, they gave up on the crabs and went for the other task, thus coming in last,  But they were lucky that this is a non elimination round! So no one is out this week. Pheww Enjoy!

In this episode  the team flew over to Argentina. Jet and Cord better known as the cowboys are obviously a very smart and consistent team, they came in 1^st again in this episode. Brent and Caite (miss south carolina), a couple, were so unlucky that they got sick, she threw up all night, and had to go to the hospital before leaving for Argentina. Poor Caite, but good thing they were not eliminated this round! Pheww. I seriously think if I was in the race, I would have K.O and gave up, especially when you are sick and still need to carry on a race? Boy that must be tough. Hope they do well in the next episode.

The Gay girls are not bad at all, but they do get frustrated at each other easily, lol. Looks like the cowboys remain as the strongest team at the moment; they are definitely a thread for all other teams. The cowboys did well at the road block task, one of them even said ‘I can’t believe I missed it at the 1^st try?! ‘ I thought they shouldn’t have responded that way, even though they know they are good, I like teams who keep low profile, and don’t show off. I still don’t know which team I support, perhaps I will find a favourite team in the next few episodes :) Who is your favourite  team? Btw, the mothers/attorney have been eliminated. For the mothers supporters, sorry!
