My parents have been very into real estate investment recently, and got me influenced as well. They buy lots of real estate books and attend countless seminars and workshops to learn and meet people all over the country with the same interest. One of my mum’s church friends, Aunty L has been very successful with her investments in the last 6 years.
She has now started to look into properties in Australia and the Corolla foreclosures in United States as well. Whenever I go home to Malaysia, I will follow her around to view properties, and try to learn as much from her. I realised you can learn so much more through real life experiences than through reading books.
I think you need to have a balance of both, reading to understand the basics of real estate investment and at the same time, start taking actions, put theory into practice. There are too many resources out there, you are not going to be able to read them all and follow them all. I do hope one day I can be as successful as aunty L. How do you invest your money?
