Little TV Addict

I havn’t got many days left in Malaysia. Since I came back, I still havn’t visited the cinema yet!! Sad right?

Well, I have a couple more days left, I thought I should go see at least 1 movie before I head back to the land of ‘boredom’ .. But there are so many shows at the moment, which one to watch? I must make sure I pick the best one, so my 2 hours won’t go to waste.. Lol

So since I am back in England, I have gone back to my habbit of sitting on the couch watching TV all night long. Sad eh? Lol.. it is actually pretty relaxing. At least I don’t have to think about work at all when I get home.

So now I am back to catching up with America’s next top model, American Idol, X-Factor, TVB dramas and Grey’s anatomy of course. Im so lost with the current TVB dramas, I don’t even know what to watch now. At the moment, Im watching Moses Chan and Tavia Yeung series, about them being teachers at high school, and I think that is one of the most current TVB airing at the moment.

Oh and I have watched so many movies when I was in Malaysia! Rio, Source Code, Just go with it, Love and other drugs.. Well, they were all pretty good. Rio is a cartoon about a bird – Rio, it is a very relaxed and somewhat touching story, Source Code is action+thriller, and you need to utilize your brain cells a little bit more, Love and other drugs is a romance film which is very touching, and Just go with was my favourite, it is funny and just sweet, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman are the 3 actor/actresses in the film!

Have you watched Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows yet?? HP movie is finally coming to an end.. in this HP7, there is 2 parts. The first part was released back in November 2010, in the UK.  There were many positive reviews for part 1 so far, which is a good start for the finale, and hopefully part 2 will have a grand ending as well.

I am not an avid fan of Harry Potter, I didn’t read the books, I didn’t watched every part of Harry Potter that were screen on cinema, I watched the 1st part, I thought it was rather interesting, part 2 was ok, and when I watched part 3, I wasn’t with it anymore. Having said that, I did actually enjoy Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows, for those of you who are not great fans, I would suggest you watch this finale, it is rather good!! If you couldn’t catch it the cinema, you can get the Deathly Hallows DVD instead.

Part 1 of the deathly hallows follows the trio (Harry, Ron, and Hermione) in search of the separate pieces of Voldemort’s soul, where he hid in obscure places that is far and deep. If their mission to destroy all parts of his soul fails, then he will remain immortal! Of course, during their mission, the love tensions between the trio continues.. Does Harry survive??? Watch to find out..

I know I am really outdated, but I really want to watch unstoppable and buried! These films have been out and aired in the cinema for many months already in Malaysia, but over here, they have just been released in the cinemas. I haven’t got time at all to go to cinemas lately, such a shame!

Maybe I should signed up to one of the online auction websites and bid for used DVDs, that way, I could still watch fairly new movies and get it at a cheaper price.

Recently I like action and thriller genres, instead of touching and romance films. I still enjoy chick flicks occasionally, but not as much now. I also love cartoons, i.e despicable me and up!! Are there any good films that you have watched and recommend?

I spent the entire day at 1 Utama shopping mall, catching up with my ex-school mate. What did we do? Basically, we did what Malaysians do best – EAT! Of course we also managed to catch a movie.

My friend wanted to watch Vampire Suck, well I didn’t mind any, but I kinda knew from the title and the casts that this is gonna suck! Lol.. Not surprising, the storyline and the script was lame to the max! I guess it was meant to be that way? I doze off a few times, and when I opened my eyes, the show ended! Thank god. We should have gone for Repo Man, or Phua Chu Kang instead. I think this show is meant for those who are anti-twilight series only! Or guys who are envious of Jacob and Edward!! Lol..

Has anyone watched Despicable Me 2010 Movie yet?? Ooh I so want to watch Despicable Me 2010 Movie.. I heard it is already out in Malaysia.. but will only be released in October in UK.. I want to know who invented the characters?! Especially the little armies – minion!! They look so spastic but soo cute! The ratings seemed quite good at the moment, 7.8/10 at imdb.com, not as high as Toy Story 3 though, but I personally think Toy Story 3 is overrated with 9/10 ratings.. check out the movie trailers..especially the one with the minion .. *hilarious*

Just watched toy story 3D in the cinema.. It was good, not great, but good. The beginning of the show was quite slow.. telling how the toys left Andy, who was going to leave his home for college. Buzz and friends misunderstood Andy’s intention to keep them in the attic instead of donating them away, so they decided to escape. I started enjoying the film towards the middle part where Woody came back and set up a plan to save his friends including Buzz Light year, the potato couple, pork chop, and others from the horrible day care centre, the place where they met the evil pink strawberry scented bear..

It was my 1st time watching a proper 3D movie.. I know im sad. But at least I’v watched it now.. I thought I was gonna be thrilled with the 3D screening.. but then I felt there wasn’t a big difference with or without the 3D glasses.. I felt it was kinda dark using the glasses, in fact most of the time I removed it and it is so much clearer.. lol.. I know I paid extra £2 for the ticket and £1 for the glasses.. silly me.. What do you think about 3D effects??

So, Sex and the City 2 is out and on the go in cinemas now.. The 4 sexy ladies embark on an adventure to Abu Dhabi in this sequel, to spend some quality girly time together without their other halves being there. The ladies do pretty much the same things as in sequel 1 and the tv series, they gossip and giggle, talk about their dreams, reality, goals, meeting the perfect man, clothes and shoes etc.

So the movie tells the story of the 4 ladies who were faced with life issues and dilemma i.e. Carrie and Mr Big going through a crisis in their relationship -mr big asks for 2 days off a week to get some private space with hopes to improve and re-sparkle their relationship, Charlotte can’t cope with her kids and had some issues with the nanny who had a preference of not wearing a bra at work, Sam gets arrested for her offensive ‘sexual’ behaviour in Abu Dhabi, and Miranda was faced with work problems.. The movie revolved around these issues and how these ladies face their challenges and eventually overcome them etc.. I thought there wasn’t a solid plot or an insightful storyline going, it felt like the story-line was somewhat non-existent.. the stories was all very briefly touched..  

I was so excited to watch it, so I went to the cinema yesterday when the movie has just released. But, I was dissapointed with the beginning of the show already, the 1st hour started with a gay marriage just for the sake of it, which I thought was not necessary..

When the 4 women got treated to Abu Dhabi for a vacation, the show started picking up. Their luxurious trip to Abu Dhabi was no doubt kinda fun to watch,  But I dont see the point why it was filmed in Abu Dhabi for 80% of the show, instead of New York. After all the title of the show is Sex and THE CITY and these ladies lived in New York all their lives! I felt like they were promoting the tourism industry of Abu Dhabi more than anything..

One thing i like very much were the dresses and jewelleries, the way they were dressed up were amazing, very glamorous, the holiday + the jewelleries, dresses and shoes would be the dreams of many women out there, so it was like watching a dream come true.. Having said that, many critics commented that the movie is not realistic etc.. With exaggerated fashion and $22,000 a night worth of suite in a palace-liked hotel, with personal chauffeurs for each of them etc..

But a story mainly about sex, gossips and relationships that lasted for 2.5 hours?? Story line wasn’t good, and running time was too long. The Middle-Eastern country is ridiculed, wrongly portrayed and I think there were some racist jokes that were offensive to the muslim society, and you’d wonder how they would feel or react if they’d watch it, I thought it was quite rude. Basically it’s a movie for pleasure , don’t waste your time if you want a good, satisfying watch, because this is definately not going to be your choice!

The ratings for this movie were terrible, the worst Iv seen so far in this year, 3.3/10 with 963 votes…

I don’t like Mel Gibson, but this movie looks interesting, a thriller, I like! Mel Gibson won’t stop me from watching a good film. I was just talking to my colleague the other day about a film I liked very much – Taken, she then recommended this movie to me, she said it’s similar. So hopefully it is!! If not Ill hunt you down Gerra lol

The ratings of this movie is 6.8/10. I still can’t believe the ratings for that strange movie – Chloe is still higher than the last few films I posted including this one. I hope there will be good films coming up soon!! Give me an 8 or 9 ratings, so I won’t feel guilty watching when I am supposed to be studying! Grrr.
